We can't say thank you enough for your kindness and generosity this year, which has made a real difference to the lives of many families and children existing in acute poverty in Sri Lanka. This year of unimaginable economic crisis, unemployment, severe fuel, gas, medication and food shortages has led to children dropping out of school through ill health due to lack of nourishment and hunger, and numbers of children in underfunded orphanages has sadly risen.
However, TFT's work, your donations, and our dedicated and selfless teams in Sri Lanka has enabled many children from disadvantaged families to have hope for the future, and as we celebrate the gift of love and togetherness this Christmas, we hope you will enjoy reading a few of our handpicked and heartwarming stories.
Instead of sending Christmas cards this year, we're sending you our very own song which is guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye and keep you humming!
'Follow the Light' was an incredible surprise gift from Jason Kouchak, world acclaimed french pianist, composer and singer-songwriter, who felt inspired by our work at TFT's Sapphire Ball in September, and Richard Farleigh's story about his life in foster care. The film is an important tool for our Alternative family and foster care advocacy work as it explains the difference between adoption, institutionalised care and foster care, which is often misunderstood in many communities.
