Probably our most satisfying story...

When Chaminda and Iranga were married, they too had wonderful hopes and dreams. But when Chaminda was shot in the back working as a security guard in a jewellers shop, life took a very different turn. Paralysed from the waist down, Iranga became his full time carer and the two children were at risk of being placed in an orphanage as they had no income.

TFT has supported the family to keep them together, ensured the children’s education, built a shower and toilet and provided fresh water. Mr Percy even built a road so Chaminda could use the wheelchair we donated.

Ravindu their son is now 19 years old, he passed his school exams and we bought him the shoes and clothing he needed for an army interview. He was accepted and is soon to be posted near to the family home. Chaminda will now have access to free medical help at the Military Hospital which is fantastic, and Ravindu will now take over supporting his loving and beautiful family. Job done, and we couldn’t be happier!
