After years of campaigning to raise awareness for forgotten children suffering in institutionalised care in Sri Lanka, at last our voice has been heard.
We are thrilled to announce we have brought together a collaborative partnership with the National Childcare and Probation services in Southern Province, the National Childcare Protection Authority,International Foster Care Organisation (USA), Centre of Excellence (India), Foundation of Goodness (Sri Lanka) and Save the Children (Sri Lanka) .
Collectively we will begin to introduce new laws, training and guidelines to safeguard children, strengthen families, and ultimately work towards the closure of institutions by introducing alternative family care.
The first pilot scheme in the Southern Province has been agreed by the Commissioner - our ultimate dream for ten years.
Together we are making the impossible, possible.
