Opportunity Position - Office Administrator Apprentice

Salary: TBC (£14,000)
Start Date: Immediately 
Location: Sunbury On Thames, Hybrid
Hours: 25-hour week, Monday - Friday, 10.00am - 3.00pm, weekend and after work hours occasionally required

Their Future Today is a non-profit organisation, a children’s charity working to support disadvantaged children across Sri Lanka. From early parental intervention to stop neglect and abuse, through to fostering, adoption and reuniting families, TFT works tirelessly to make the children of Sri Lanka’s lives better, forever. 

 

Their Future Today is seeking an enthusiastic Office Administrator to join the team on a six-month contract with the potential for long-term employment. The main objective of the role is for the candidate to learn all aspects of running a small charity, and build confidence in areas such as basic bookkeeping, social media, digital marketing and event assistance, proficiently working with minimal supervision, prioritising workload and ensuring the rest of the charity staff has adequate support to work efficiently. 

 

Qualifications Required

GCSE Maths and English Grade 9-4 (A-C or equivalent)

 

Training Provided

On-the-job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard – Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.

  • Excellent computer skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Organised self-starter and the ability to work on their own initiative

  • Proficient in filing and paper management 

  • Ability to handle confidential information

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • A strong aptitude for helping other people 

 

Key Responsibilities/ Training available

  • Managing the charity’s correspondence, including phone calls, emails and letters

  • Handling basic bookkeeping and budgeting

  • Organising meetings and scheduling appointments

  • Assisting in fundraising, marketing and events when required

  • Updating charity’s CRM databases

  • Managing inventory of office supplies, including stationary and multimedia equipment to ensure smooth office operations

  • Minute-taking at Trustee meetings

  • Filing all images and documents into the correct folders on the Google Drive
