While we move back to some normality in the west and reflect on the past few months, the Covid19 situation in Sri Lanka has continued to worsen. Positive cases and deaths are continuing to rise dramatically, and waiting lists for private hospital beds have closed even in appointed hospital hotels where sick people are now sleeping on balconies.
The situation is critical. We are overwhelmed with desperate pleas for food provisions from those who are now struggling to provide even one meal a day for their hungry children and are often having to make choices between medication and meals.
