HELPING A LITTLE GIRL AND HER FAMILY AFTER THE EASTER SUNDAY ATROCITY

Updated: Oct 22, 2019

Thank you to British Sri Lankan Association for the donation of £647 for victims of the Easter Sunday terrorist atrocity at the Performance for Peace on 5th May 2019.

We identified Sri Lankan families in need of support after the Easter Sunday atrocity, we are pleased to share the news that we have donated a life-changing Braille machine (cost £684) on behalf of BRISLA members to Elaisha Debbie who is 6 years old and was blinded and lost both parents in the tragic attack in Batticaloa.

Elaisha was unfortunately in hospital in Colombo with her grandmother by her side, so brother Rufus 8yrs old collected the Braille machine on her behalf, with his Aunty Vathany and Uncle Robert who are now looking after the two children having narrowly escaped death themselves.
